Guest Book
At Kalum River Lodge we strive to provide a first
class personalized service to ensure our guests’ stay with us is a memorable
one. We started our guest book last year and here’s what our guests have
written since then.
| Thanks for a great
trip. Your lodge, your food and service has been fantastic. We
really enjoyed and we hope to come back. Andrew, your energy is just
fantastic and give us EXTRA fun as well. All the best. - Helge
Vetas, 2Instincts, Norway. September 2011 |

| My son Hogan and I are
thankful that we had the opportunity to come to you nice home and
experience our first Steelhead fishing. Great job by all. Knowledgeable
guides and terrific hospitality. Ernie (Assistant Guide) was a
gentleman. Thanks!! Hogan and I especially enjoyed the cooking after a
long day on the river. Until next time, peace and best of luck! - Howard Steiss (13lb Steelie) and Hogan Steiss (16lb Steelie beats Dad!!),

| Fish that dreams are
made of - that is what you swing to every cast while at Kalum River
Lodge. Andrew and team as always set up a great trip - we had high
water, rain and wind but through it all they were able to keep us in
the fish. Unbelievable dinners and fantastic life saving lunches out
on the bar. This is our 6th year with Kalum River Lodge and you can
bet that I will be writing about my 10th/15th years here too. Thanks
for the awesome trip. - Troy Adams and Marcus Ervin, Santa Cruz, CA,
USA September 2011 |
 |
| Once again it’s been a great fishing
trip. It’s not only first class fly fishing but also first class
lodge. See you next year. - Thomas B, Germany September 2011

faultless hospitality once again. Wonderful food and all served with
a smile! Andrew’s limitless energy always trying to find us the
fish. Truly hosts of the highest calibre. Thank you again. - Phil

| Second trip for me.
Thanks for your coaching, I feel like a better fisherman. Scenery
was spectacular, saw a bear every day. Fishing was great, hooked
some powerful silver fish - got my Steelhead and Coho. Really
appreciate the hospitality. Thanks. - Tony Fairclough, Basel,
Switzerland August 2011 |

| Another great trip has
come to an end and it was great. From 35lb Chinook on the Skeena to
180 plus hook-ups on the Kitimat, I couldn’t be happier. The food
and accommodations were top notch as always! Andrew, your
encouragement, knowledge of the water and fish, and expertise never
cease to amaze me. Hopefully we will be back next year. - Alan Rush,
Herndon, VA, USA August 2011 |
 |
| Thank you so much for
the great trip. I have never caught fish so big or so many fish in
one day before. This was the most fun fishing I have ever had. The
food was also amazing and I am hooked on fly fishing. I will
definitely be back next year. - Matt Wiener, San Diego, CA, USA

| Thank you so much for
yet another amazing experience fishing both the Skeena and Kitimat.
Record-sized Chinook on the Skeena was truly awesome, as was the 100
plus hook-ups on the scenic Kitimat. The cooking and hospitality
provided last year far exceeded my expectations, and this year was
just as impressive if not better (the home-made bread is the best
I’ve ever had!). Andrew, the amount of wisdom you’ve shared with us
this past week is certainly something I will carry with me for the
rest of my like, and the laughs we all shared still have my sides
hurting from days ago. I will always remember my trips here for the
rest of my life, and the friendships I’ve made with other guests
here are sure to last a lifetime. I can’t thank you enough for
another amazing, memorable experience here at Kalum River Lodge. I
can’t wait to come back again next year. - Peter Rush, Herndon, VA,
USA August 2011 |
 |
| Once again another
great Canadian fishing adventure. Chum on the fly was a great
experience for me, as was catching a record-breaking amount of fish
in one day! 250 plus hook-ups in less than 8 hours!! it’s a good job
your home-cooked food is both great tasting and nutritious or my
muscles may have never recovered from such fly fishing action! Hope
to see you again next year. -Matthew Taiwo, Yorkshire, UK August
2011 |
 |
| Thank you for the
amazing time you showed us. My son Evan and guests Seigi and Masami
were impressed by the fishing in “nature” and truly enjoyed their “A
River Runs Through It” experience. Andrew, you’re a gem and truly
stand our as one of the best guides in B.C. Thank you for sharing
your knowledge and your mentorship of our fishing skills. Thank you
for making our stay so comfortable and for the delicious meals! -
Wilson Kwong, Vancouver, B.C. August 2011 |
 |
| Thank you for a really
great 3 days of fishing. What a feeling catching that 27lb King, as
you could see by the huge smile on my face. I really enjoyed your
wonderful hospitality and fine food. First class all the way. Thank
you again and I hope I get the chance to repeat in the future. -
Wayne Corlett, Palmerston North, New Zealand July 2011 |

| We are first timers to
your fantastic lodge and what an experience. From the first class
food and hospitality, you made us feel like old friends that had
come for a visit. Andrew, your knowledge of the Kalum River was
incredible as you picked out fantastic water to fish. The number of
Steelhead hooked was incredible. From the fantastic scenery to the
peaceful floats down the river, this was truly a fishing trip of a
lifetime. - Jason and Pat, Kamloops, B.C . April 2011 |
 |
| Thank you for your
hospitality and expertise. I had a fantastic time. You have made the
Kalum River Lodge experience warm and complete - and as a less than
novice fisherman, you made the fishing easy. Andrew’s knowledge of
where and when to fish appears to be second to none, This
unfortunately brief stay far exceeded my expectations. Much
appreciated. - John Hedblom, Arizona, USA September 2010 |
 |
| Mat (Mathew McHugh, Fly
Odyssey Fishing Holidays UK) said your lodge was first class and I
reckon he is right but he didn’t say that you were great hosts and I
will make sure he adds a lot more to his comments when recommending
Kalum River Lodge. Great fishing, great hospitality and great
people. Hope to see you again. - Bill Mummert, Australia September
2010 |
 |
| From end to end it’s
been awesome, and although it wouldn’t be exactly true to say that
it wouldn’t have mattered if we hadn’t caught any fish, your
terrific hospitality and warmth would have made that OK too. Hope to
see you again. - Steve Rothkopf, Oxford, UK September 2010 |
 |
| We would like to than
you for another great year of fishing. The Skeena was very generous
and we landed big Steelhead, 17 and 13 each, giant Chum and Springs,
Sockeye, Coho and the Pinks. Good company and food, and the lodge
was awesome. This is our 5th year of fishing at Kalum River Lodge
and it keeps getting better. Needless to say we are already signed
up for next year and we are looking forward to another fantastic
time on the Skeena with you. Thanks. - Troy Adams and Marcus Ervin,
Santa Cruz, CA, USA September 2010 |
