Youth Week 2012 at Kalum River Lodge
Over past seasons we have had a number of young
anglers at Kalum River Lodge and we have always found this to be a fun and
rewarding experience for all involved. As such we started Kalum River
Lodge’s Youth Week which is designed so young people can experience salmon
fishing on the world’s greatest rivers. During this action packed week you
will be able to fish the world famous Skeena River for salmon, Steelhead and
trout, and float down the scenic Kitimat river. This is a unique opportunity
to experience some great fishing in the stunning wilderness of British
Columbia.
Our experienced staff will teach beginners or
novices how to fish and help more experienced anglers improve their fishing
skills. You can have a go at the art of fly fishing with lessons in casting
and even try tying your own flies.
Kalum River Lodge is a well-appointed lodge in a
scenic and safe wilderness setting. After a day out on the river you can
take a walk around the lodge’s grounds and forests down to the Kalum River,
relax on the sun deck and take in the spectacular mountain views or play a
game or two of soccer on the lawn.
Not only is this a fishing trip of a lifetime but
a chance to meet fellow anglers and forge new friendships with people from
around the world.

We can't thank you enough for the fantastic time that Matthew had while he
was in your care. He talked for two hours on the drive home from the airport
and then was up for another two showing us pictures and sharing more tales

Thank you so much for yet another amazing experience fishing both the Skeena
and Kitimat. Record-sized Chinook on the Skeena was truly awesome, as was
the 100 plus hook-ups on the scenic Kitimat. The cooking and hospitality
provided last year far exceeded my expectations, and this year was just as
impressive if not better (the home-made bread is the best I’ve ever had!).
Andrew, the amount of wisdom you’ve shared with us this past week is
certainly something I will carry with me for the rest of my life, and the
laughs we all shared still have my sides hurting from days ago. I will
always remember my trips here for the rest of my life, and the friendships
I’ve made with other guests here are sure to last a lifetime. I can’t thank
you enough for another amazing, memorable experience here at Kalum River
